After a morning of picking apples at Lyman Orchards, my toddler and I had a bag full of Macintosh and Honeycrisp apples to bake recipes with and enjoy eating as a snack. We had a few remaining apples left and I discovered this recipe for Fresh Apple Cinnamon Scones so I wanted to try it. For a few weeks I searched for cinnamon chips in my local grocery stores but could not locate a bag. Buying online was an option, but I really didn’t need 2 or more bags. I started researching homemade cinnamon chip recipes and found one that worked out great. The recipe makes a little more than what is needed for the recipe, but I’m sure you can find some creative ways to add them to another dessert. This is now my favorite scone recipe and is perfect for a morning brunch, breakfast or afternoon coffee break!
