Connecticut Feature: No-Bake Nutella Cream Pie

I’m a stay-at-home momma of two toddlers, one who goes to preschool five mornings a week. Now, according to my pre-motherhood ideations about what my post-kids life would look like, I should be the woman whose house is immaculate, whose hair is always neatly coiffed, whose family’s laundry is perfectly pressed, and who can always be counted on to make a beautiful dessert. My reality: every morning we are racing the clock to get out the door on time to drop off my 3-year old at preschool. The house is less immaculate, more “lived in” because of said kiddos. My hair is thrown into a knot at the top of my head daily as I hustle through life. And, to my chagrin, my family’s laundry is likely awaiting a second dryer cycle because I’ve let it sit in the dryer too long and it’s wrinkled again.

However, the one piece of my story that has held true is I can create a tasty treat at a moment’s notice, like this No-Bake Nutella Cream Pie. With the holiday parties on their way and 2 little ones running around, I appreciate having a quick, easy, and delicious dessert in my recipe box.

In a recent visit to my brother’s house, my niece proudly showed me the gigantic jar of Nutella in their cupboard. After the 11-year-old whipped up some incredible Nutella & banana crepes for us that morning (she’s incredible), my thoughts went to how I could use this Nutella in a dessert for that evening. I came across this heavenly No-Bake Nutella Cream Pie here  and modified it slightly to make this perfect. The few things I added to make it an over the top dessert was a Oreo Cookie crust, a hot fudge layer on the bottom, and some crushed Oreos on the top so the pie would have a little crunch.
If you have 10 minutes early in the day to prepare this pie and a couple hours to let it set up in the fridge, you’ve got to make this! With this pie, you can be the parent who may not have it all together, but can whip up the perfect dessert in no time.
