We may be over here on the West Coast, but we’ve had some super chilly days (for us) this winter and my three-year-old loves to say that everything is “as cold as ice.” He heard me say it a couple times and now he thinks it’s the funniest thing!
“My knees are as cold as ice!”
“My belly button is as cold as ice!”
And he cracks himself up every time.
This “Frozen” themed treat, meant to look like ice blocks, was the perfect jiggly addition to his jokes.
When Jax wiggles it as he goes to eat it he just busts up laughing…barely getting the Jello in his mouth! HAHA!
- This time around, instead of spraying the dish with non-stick cooking spray, I used a sheet of parchment paper to line the bottom and poured the clear mixture on top of the parchment paper. The first time I made this recipe, I used the spray and the “clear” part of the ice block had cloudy spots all throughout and I had to cut around them. The parchment paper worked great, the jello is easy to separate and it made it super easy to clean up.
- Be careful when you are handling the jello when cutting it up. The clear top section of the “ice block” and the blue section tend to separate if you handle only the top of the “block”. Be sure to grab each “block” by the bottom and they shouldn’t separate.
